Teaching

Kate teaches Chem 459/549. This one-semester course serves as an introduction to the principles of electrochemistry and their application to studying redox systems. Topics include potentiometry, chronoamperometry, voltammetry, hydrodynamic methods, bulk electrolysis, coupled chemical processes, and spectroelectrochemistry. Practical considerations for electrochemical experiments and specific examples of applications in the literature are also covered.

Kate teaches Chem 164. This course is Part II in the Honors General Chemistry series and provides in-depth coverage of many introductory topics. Main topics include solutions, chemical equilibrium, reaction kinetics, acids & bases, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry.
